Trunks says as soon as his time machine was charged up he would return and help. 5. Just because 3 years passed for Goku and the others doesn't mean 3 passed for Trunks. Not possible because the Z fighters would still be busy training, if he stayed in the future for 8 months. And if he tried to skip 2+ years with his time machine he would end up in a different timeline with a different scenario than the present.

He went from "getting squashed" to "holding his own" . That indicates a good increase . And Just because Trunks doesnt look older , it doesnt mean that his age didnt increase in those 3 years . i reckon he was 20 when he came back .

FireFox Favourite Manga Sailor Moon	Trunks is in the future he does not have to come back at the exact same time he left equivalent to where he wants to go. Trunks if he had batteries could have jump right to the Android battle if he wanted. Trunks trained 8 months everyone else get 3. Trunks should have blown Vegeta at the water in the ROSAT or the gap between Trunks and Vegeta and Goku is bigger then most think and t hey are only group together because they are SSJs.
